OPTICAL GLASS WINDOWS HAVE A VARIETY OF APPLICATIONS
Sight glass windows / viewports are used in laboratories, instruments, laser systems, furnaces, and many other environments to function as protective windows, viewing windows, level indicators, and flow indicators.
Pressure windows are manufactured to withstand use under high pressure for applications such as vacuum windows, pressure vessel windows, deep sea camera windows, spacecraft windows and more.
OPTICAL WINDOWS MADE TO SPECIFICATION
ADVANCED GLASS MANUFACTURES CUSTOM WINDOWS
AGI supplies made-to-specification sight glasses, viewports, and pressure windows in a variety of optical materials including fused quartz, pyrex, and more. We have the fabrication capabilities to make windows in whatever shape and thickness you need, and understand the special processing needed to minimize subsurface damage for demanding window environments.
DESIGN OF PRESSURE WINDOW IS VERY IMPORTANT
Pressure windows and viewports must be carefully designed to withstand the environments they are used in. Please note that Advanced Glass Industries excels at manufacturing products to customer specification and does not provide any engineering or design services. Consider the environment the will be used in, the chemical and mechanical properties of the material selected, and the desired safety factor when designing a pressure window / sight glass / viewport. Consult an engineer if you are unsure of the design requirements for your application.
HELPFUL INFORMATION ABOUT PRESSURE WINDOWS
Advanced Glass Industries strongly recommends that you consult an engineer regarding your pressure window requirements, but to give you some idea of the variables and calculations that go in to determining pressure window specifications, we’re pleased to share pressure window formulas. We have lots of additional optics reference material on our resources page.
